Contact The Elderly

The first Contact The Elderly group was founded in the 1960s by Trevor Littleton MBE,

in response to a growing awareness that hundreds of elderly residents in his local

borough of Marylebone were living alone, with no social contact apart from the

milkman or shop assistant.

Almost 50 years later, the charity runs Sunday tea party groups throughout the UK, providing a 'lifeline of friendship' to older guests, for some of whom these afternoons are their only regular social contact.

Contact The Elderly are always on the lookout for new volunteers to co-ordinate groups, drive guests and host tea parties. You can find more information on their website:

Christmas Wishes is excited to partner with Contact The Elderly's Regional Development Officer for the Northwest. Cards produced by Christmas Wishes volunteers will be collated in Manchester and sent to guests supported by the Sunday tea party groups throughout the Northwest.
